Geofoam

Two-component high-foaming, rapidly reacting silicate injection resin for cavity and void filling, temporary water-stopping and ground stailization

Product Benefits

Easy filling of free cavities and voids thanks to high foaming factor
Possibility of performing work using a large volume of resin without a technological break - low reaction temperature.
Immediate water-stopping of even pressurized water in larger cracks and joints
Geofoam silicate foam structure is not tough and can be mechanically removed if necessary.
Can be applied into the rock in front of the TBM without the risk of blocking the cutter head.

Sectors

Metal & Non-Metal Mining, Infrastructure

Applications

Ground Support, Ground Consolidation

Product Details

GeoFoam is a rapidly reacting, strongly expanding two component injection resin with flame retarder, CFC-free. GeoFoam is a silicate based resin foam. Component A is a modified silicate, and component B is a modified isocyanate. After mixing in a volumetric ratio 1: 1 the resin starts foaming up within a few seconds. Geofoam is mainly intended for cavity and void filling, loose rock stabilization and temporary water stopping. For permanent sealing, re-injection with a closed-cell resin is necessary.

Product Features

Two-component high-foaming silicate injection resin

High foaming factor

Depending on the total volume of the void being filled and the ambient temperature, the resin achieves a typical foaming factor of 15-25x (free foaming in laboratory conditions up to 30x).

Immediate and strong reaction

The chemical reaction is very strong and occurs immediately after mixing the two components in a 1:1 ratio. Combination of fast reaction and volume expansion prevents washout.

Open-cell structure

Geofoam has an open-cell structure. Depending on the specific application, re-injection is used to achieve a permanent sealing effect or higher strength.

Low reaction temperature

The maximum reaction temperature in the core of the reacting resin is lower than 100°C. At the same time, due to the open-cell structure, heat accumulates for a shorter period of time.

Fire class B2

High resistance and reaction to fire of Geofoam resin
