Expansion Shell Bolts

Expansion Shell Bolts are designed to be used for roof and ribs support in mine working areas as an independent or auxiliary roof support system.

Expansion shell bolts are easy to handle, while they are implemented fast. In the case of expanding anchors the anchor foot is braced against the borehole wall with wedge-shaped spreading elements. Resins or mortars are not required to secure the anchor. They are also used for the attachment of various components of mining equipment.

Upon insertion of the expansion anchor into the borehole, the plastic ring holding the wedges at their minimum diameter is scraped at the borehole edge. Immediately after this, the liberated wedges assume the geometry of the borehole under the spring effect. Any return movement is now excluded and each load transferred from the anchor rod to the expanding head causes further spreading of the wedges.

Expansion Shell Cement Bolts Type AP-KRC

The following product options are available:

M20

The bars are made from reinforced ribbed bar of dn=20 mm and B500SP or B500B steel.

The expansion shell ø42/M20 with a diameter of ø42 mm is used to fix the bolt in the hole.

There are special sleeves (bulb) with a diameter of ø65 mm and plastic pumping pipe. For these sets 8mm thick round and square washers are applied with a hole of ø54 mm.

M24

The bars are made from reinforced ribbed bar of dr=21,70 mm of AP770 steel.

The expansion shell ø42/M24 with a diameter of ø42 mm is used to fix the bolt in the hole.

There are special sleeves (bulb) with a diameter of ø65 mm and plastic pumping pipe. For these sets 8mm thick round and square washers are applied with a hole of ø54 mm.

Expansion Shell Bolts Type KE-3W and KE3-2K

Expansion shells of ø36 mm are the elements which set the bolt in the hole. The KE-3W shell consists of 3 shells and one expander while the KE3-2K shell consists of 3 shells and 2 expanders.

Simple and easy to install for immediate support to a work area, the expansion shell creates a point to anchor into the hole by turning the bolt. The shell tightens to the rock creating tension at the foot of the borehole, transferring the load from the bolt head and plate to the rock via the shell.

Expansion Shell Bolts Type KR-1 and KR-2

KR-1/Ø25-M18 and KR-2/Ø25-M18 expansion shells of ø25 mm diameter are elements fixing the bolt in the hole. KR-1/Ø25-M18 shell consists of one shell sleeve and one expander, while KR-2/Ø25-M18 shell consists of two shell sleeves and two expanders.

The bolt rods are made of plain AP 600 steel bar of ø18.3 mm in accordance with ZN-97/AP-2 standard. The rods vary in terms of shape and size of the forged head. The upper part of the rod ends with a rolled M18 thread.
