This landmark moment in the construction of HS2 was made possible with the support of Minova, enabling the safe breakthrough at the Chiltern Tunnel Headwall.
We are proud to have supplied the specialist materials used to stabilise and reinforce the 17‑metre‑high headwall that the Tunnel Boring Machines (TBMs) broke through.
This included hundreds of Minova soil nails, GFRP tendons and applying reinforcement systems designed to keep the structure secure and allow for a safe working environment before and during the breakthrough.
