CarboFill

CarboFill is a two‑component phenolic foam resin for fast cavity filling, strata injection and temporary seals, combining a high foam factor, low reaction heat and proven fire resistance for underground mining.

Product Benefits

Lower manual handling as high foam factor decreases underground product movements
Sustain production in wet ground with injection performance against water flow
Improve operational efficiency with quick in‑line mixing and controlled 4:1 dosing
Faster re‑entry and cycle times through instant foaming and minimal formwork
Safer working conditions with low reaction heat and fire‑resistant final foam

Sectors

Coal Mining

Applications

Cavity and backfilling, Gas and ventilation, Void filling

Product Details

CarboFill® is Minova’s phenolic foam resin system engineered for rapid void filling and strata injection in underground mining and tunnelling. The two‑component formulation – Component A aqueous phenolic resin with suspended carbonates and Component B acid blend – is metered at 4:1 through twin pumps and a static mixer, expanding immediately to form a lightweight, fire‑resistant foam that can be built up quickly withlittle to no shuttering. Typical uses include filling roadways and longwalls, stabilising debris, preventing gas accumulation, constructing temporary plug seals and dams and gas‑sealing roadside packs and embankments. CarboFill’s high foam factor helps reduce product consumption and handling, while its low reaction temperature supports safer placement and application at lower ambient temperatures. The system can be injected or sprayed and performs against water flow, enabling efficient placement in challenging, wet conditions. We support you with trained application specialists, equipment guidance and on‑site technical advice to de‑risk delivery and accelerate production.

Product Features

Rapid, fire‑resistant phenolic foam for underground voids

Two‑component phenolic foam mixes at 4:1 ratio

Aqueous phenolic Comp. A + acidic Comp. B, mixed 4:1 via twin pump and static mixer for immediate, controlled foaming

Instant foaming; little to no formwork needed

Fast reaction allows the foam to be heaped, minimising sheeting and enabling quick cavity build‑up

High foam factor cuts consumption and handling

Generates high expansion, reducing material moved underground and improving logistics efficiency

Low reaction temperature; safer underground use

Low exotherm during cure helps manage heat while the final foam remains fire‑resistant

Injectable and sprayable application options

Use injection for targeted fills or spray techniques for rapid area coverage underground
