Our solutions are engineered for coal’s specific conditions: rapid setting resins to shorten bolting cycles; glass fibre reinforced polymer (GFRP) cuttable bolts for longwall interaction; yielding and dynamic systems to manage convergence, abutment loading and burst prone zones; and corrosion resilient options for wet seams. Water Control

Water ingress is one of the most persistent risks underground. It can undermine your ground support, disrupt longwall schedules and stall roadway development if it is not identified and rectified quickly. Minova’s water control products are design for coal operations stopping inflows, consolidating fractured strata and safeguarding your support regime so you can keep producing safely and efficiently.

We combine fast-acting injectable resins – polyurethane, silicate and phenolic systems with sprayed membranes and plasters to seal fractures, block pathways and form durable barriers around headings, gate roads and seals. Our injection range is engineered to penetrate fine fissures and perform across varying water temperatures and pressures, while our surface applied systems deliver quick, clean sealing underground.

Cavity Filling

In underground coal, fractured ground and sudden voids, whether along longwall faces or in development roadways, can impact production and put people at risk. Minova’s cavity filling systems are engineered for rapid deployment to stabilise strata, control goaf conditions and restore safe access, helping you maintain productivity without compromise.

Our portfolio combines fast acting phenolic, silicate and polyurethane technologies to suit the distinct demands of coal operations. Carbofillâ„¢ phenolic resin foam is fire resistant with a high foaming factor for efficient volume fill and immediate strength; it is applied with minimal shuttering to fill drifts and longwalls, prevent gas build up, seal dams and support emergency works. Geofoamâ„¢ delivers rapid reaction, strong expansion and a low reaction temperature, with the ability to inject against water flow for dual use in strata injection and cavity filling. CarboPurâ„¢ LT (low temperature polyurethane) adds controlled foaming with a low exothermic profile and robust compressive performance blending the handling benefits typically associated with silicates and polyurethanes.

Minova brings decades of coal specific experience, LOBA approved formulations for underground coal mines and a dedicated fleet of pumps and accessories for rapid, safe application. Gas & Ventilation

Minova keeps your coal operation breathing safely and moving efficiently with a range of gas and ventilation solutions engineered, tested and installed to suit your roadway dimensions, strata conditions and regulatory requirements. We bring more than twenty years of experience manufacturing and installing ventilation structures for underground coal mines. Our range includes the largest selection of live tested, explosion rated ventilation control devices, supported by engineering certification and full service from evaluation and design to installation and maintenance.

From overcasts, machine doors and man doors to coffin seals, access hatches and air locks, we tailor each device to your layout to keep fresh air moving and contaminants contained. We also supply airflow regulators to balance circuits, manage access and improve re entry times after blasting. All solutions are available as direct supply, supply and service or full turnkey delivery, so you can focus on production.

For seals and barriers, we design concrete and plug seals and sprayed stoppings for coal roadways to control air, gas and water across the life of the panel. High yield grouts such as Teksealâ„¢ and FB200â„¢ enable rapid placement and remote pumping, helping you establish robust, explosion rated structures quickly and safely. Where access is constrained, our surface to seam approach reduces underground exposure and speeds construction, backed by rigorous quality control and proven test programmes.

Pre-driven Roadway Pillars

Minova’s Pre Driven Recovery Roadway (PDRR) solution makes longwall relocations safer and faster by combining fully cuttable grout pillars with engineered formwork and an integrated grout delivery system. This pre driven road support approach delivers clear productivity and safety gains during longwall recovery.

Built around our cuttable formwork and industry recognised FB200 high yield grout, the system lets you optimise pillar geometry immediately to match changing geological conditions. It is proven in coal operations and versatile enough to support gas drainage stubs and longwall shearer stables.

Where you prefer bulk fly ash/cement backfill over false pillars, we design and construct rated shutters and bulkheads to contain the backfill and meet your roadway requirements. Our cuttable pillars have helped customers raise longwall relocation efficiency by 50% to 80% while strengthening workforce safety.
